6 Comments May 1st is RSS Awareness Day
For the first day of May, I am focusing on a different kind of awareness – the bloggy kind! That’s because today has been declared RSS Awareness Day. For those of you who are not already reading this via feed, visit RSSday.org and watch the video “RSS in Plain English” to learn what it is and how it works. (Don’t forget to come back here and subscribe once you are all set up with your feed reader!)

I am currently using Google Reader to keep up with the blogs and other websites I like. To those of you who are already RSS-converts, which feed reader do you use and what do you like best about it?

I love Google Reader and finally figured out how to share my favorite stuff in a widget for my blog. The problem with readers like Google reader that make it so easy is that you end up subscribing to many more (and following many more effectively) than you ever could by just bookmarking them!
I have a separate question for you about your momblogs widget – I bragged to DH about how I embedded two of their badges into each other to create my own “rate this” badge. I see you have one just like I created. Did you get the idea from surfing at my place or are our brains just THAT in tune to each other?!
I love it!
I am with Bloglines. Started useing it with in a month of starting my blog(just about two years ago) A friend was useing it so I just copied her. Google Reader wasn’t out at the time or at least I hadn’t heard of it back then.. and since I don’t have any complaints about bloglines I just never changed over.. Yeah I’m lazy like that LOL.
@Nicole – I totally stole the idea from you! I just did it last night and have also been contemplating the shared reader widget you started using as well. See, you are an innovater!
i dont think I could survive without my google reader.
I admit to being reader clueless. I like my big folder of blogs, but then again I have less than 50 on it currently. When I first started blogging I added a few to my igoogle, but never used it. I keep saying I’m going to switch to figure it all out…but I haven’t yet. I’m still in the dark ages, I’m afraid.
My feeds are now divided between Google Reader and My yahoo. I prefer Google Reader – quicker, more convenient, and let’s me read entire posts on a single page unlike Yahoo. But I am too lazy to switch all my feeds to Google. RSS is a godsend, I tell you.
