Success Sunday Banner

“Since nothing we intend is ever faultless,
and nothing we attempt ever without error,
and nothing we achieve
without some measure of finitude
and fallibility we call humanness,
we are saved by forgiveness.”

–David Augsburger

I have just finished reading a thought-provoking novel called The Renovation by Terri Kraus, which is ultimately a story of forgiving and being forgiven. The book features a number of quotes about the topic of forgiveness, many of which really spoke to me.

This particular one seems tied into the idea of success and how we define it in our lives. Success does not necessarily mean perfection, for we are not perfect beings. But not being able to achieve perfection doesn’t mean that you give up and sit in a corner. Instead, we press on with whatever we are being called to do and recognize that there is a place for mercy and grace in everything.

Great one! It never ceases to amaze me that no one ever uses the same quote! Lots of wisdom out there for us all to discover!

Hmm I need to read this. I have a bad habit of being a perfectionist and thinking that in order to be successful EVERYTHING must fall into place.
