Practically Perfect: A Novel by Katie Fforde
This book was a light, but fun, read about a single interior designer who buys a small cottage to renovate. In the process, she ends up adopting a greyhound from a rescue center and having to choose between two very different men. A good choice if you are looking for a little fluff in your bookbag.

Odd Mom Out by Jane Porter
This author was recently recommended over at 5 Minutes for Mom, but the book they reviewed was checked out at the library, so I picked this one up instead. It is the story of a single mom returning to the Seattle area after many years living in New York and how she deals with the differences between her style and values and the other moms in her new neighborhood, as well as her relationship with her daughter and her return to dating after many years. I really enjoyed the book and am glad to have read it first, since the other one, Mrs. Perfect, is actually the story of one of the other characters from this one.

I just found a new other I’m really enjoying – Linda Nichols. Not light reading by any means, but contemporary fiction that we can all relate to. I, too, had heard about this set of books that by Kate Fforde and am anxious to check them out!
I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed Odd Mom Out. I haven’t read that one yet (and actually didn’t know about it when I reviewed Mrs. Perfect), but I do want to read it.
It seems like you and I like a lot of the same kinds of books.
i have been wanting to read something new…thanks for the suggestions.

If you liked Odd Mom Out, then I also suggest Flirting with Forty also by Jane Porter; It’s being made into a TV move for Lifetime which will air in December.
Also, Jane’s May release Mrs. Perfect is book 2 and it’s wonderful. It’s Taylor’s story (from Odd Mom Out). It’s getting rave reviews!
