Success Sunday: Beginning to Draw

Success Sunday Banner

“You have to begin drawing to know what you want to draw.”
–Picasso

I have missed a couple of Sundays but have been thinking about this quote for a while. It reminds me of being a child staring at a blank piece of paper and wishing I could make something beautiful. No matter how many colors of crayons or markers I had, I could never get started because I had no idea what to draw or how to do it.

When my son started asking me to draw things for him, my first instinct was to tell him that I couldn’t, but since I want him to be willing to try new things, I have had to at least attempt to make something recognizable.  While I am no artist, I have been able to create pictures that he is happy with.

I’m curious, what is something that you don’t feel comfortable with or successful at that you could try to do?  Think about it and see if you can find a way to try it this week.

  • I would love to be really good at orienteering…I’ve found a local group that hosts orienteering events but I haven’t worked up the courage to go. I’d also like to take a photography class. And improve my Spanish…

Wow…the more I think about it, the more I realize there are *a lot* of things I’d like to try!
