Last week, I was able to attend the monthly mom’s group at our church for the first time in four years (not counting a couple of evening events I made it to). I had to stop going when Michael first starting receiving Early Intervention services, and my schedule has just never worked out to have Tuesday mornings free, until now! It was a wonderful time of connecting with some other moms and just relaxing for a couple of hours.
It was actually through one of the moms in that group that I got started blogging, and I feel like I know several of them really well now even though we haven’t spent much time together in person. The former leader of the group had started this blog (formerly called “Like I Was Saying”) to share announcements and other items of interest a couple of years ago, and now the team has decided to make it a group blog with several of us contributing whatever is on our heart.
So I will be popping up over there at random times, amongst a whole crew of great ladies who are mom bloggers and will be sharing their ideas and talents with all of us. Come and check out the new Created and Called!
I'm a mom with Asperger's raising an amazing son with autism, which means I'm basically the case manager/advocate/cheerleader/chauffeur. The rest of the time, you can usually find me with my nose in a book!

Thanks for the link. I find that the special needs parents blogosphere community fills a social/community need for me when my schedule gets too hectic to connect in other ways :0)

That’s great you can get out and about “ALONE”. How I wish I could and connect with some other mom’s, but everyone is so busy, busy, busy.

Isnt it so easy to forget that you need these women for support when you are in the midst of a storm with your child? I do it often and then when I get back to them I feel like I never should have left. I am glad to hear you got some girl time.
