Right now, I am reading Darcy’s Voyage: A tale of uncharted love on the open seas
As anyone who likes P&P related stories knows, many attempts have been made to retell or build on the original story, often ending in disaster (from my perspective anyway!). What I like about this one is that it is set in the same time frame and incorporates some of the same events but from a slightly different perspective. The mechanism Louise uses to bring Elizabeth and Darcy together is a classic romance novel twist that almost made me put it down, but her intriguing writing style kept me reading despite the cliche.
Would I recommend it? Yes, if you like P&P takeoffs and don’t mind a little well-written silliness along the way.
