Fall Into Reading 2010

in Books

Fall Into Reading is an annual reading challenge led by Kristina at Callapidder Days. The main requirements to participate are to create a list of books you would like to read (or finish reading), post your list at the beginning of fall and post your results at the end of the season. For more details, you can read her posts on The Basics, the Posting Guidelines and the Prizes and Giveaways.

I have been keeping track of the books I read and plan to read over at Shelfari, and as of this writing there are 125 books on my TBR list. So my goal for this fall is to read 20 of them. I am listing the most likely prospects below, although the list may change if I have difficulty getting any of them or change my mind after reading a few pages.

I’ll try to keep you updated as I go along with what I have read or if the list changes!

You have some books I LOVED on there — After You, Only True Genius in the Family, The Stuff that Never Happened, and While I’m Falling. . . .

I should keep an ongoing list on one of those programs. I’ve thought about joining Good Reads or Library Thing, but I don’t know if I’d keep up with it.

I spent a lot of time a couple of years ago putting books on Shelfari. I’m not as good about keeping up with it now, but I do use it to keep lists of what I am interested in reading.

The thing I need to start doing is keep track of where I heard about the books I plan to read. I probably got a lot of the ideas from your site!!

I read almost all day – online – and so it takes me forever to get through a book. Sigh. I need to discipline that part of my life, too! Currently I am reading (intermittently) [Who] do you think your are? by Megan Smolyenak – about genealogy – my avocation that has been usurped by blogging.

Oh, I would go crazy without a book at hand most of the time! I’ll have to pass that suggestion on to my father-in-law, as he is very interesting in genealogy as well.

20 books sounds like an excellent goal. Most of the books on your list are new to me — only ones I’ve read are Club Sandwich and Fearless (both good, I thought). Enjoy your fall reading, and thanks for being part of the challenge!
