So I am sitting here on Christmas night, writing my first blog post on our new iPad. My brother and his wife gave it to us for Christmas, so we are looking for any suggestions on the best apps for Michael. He doesn’t really need ones for communicating since he is verbal, but anything related to schedules, social skills and pragmatics is worth us looking into, I think.
Just from what I have seen so far, this is an amazing machine, although I think I am going to use my birthday money for a case with a keyboard. Typing a full length blog post would be a bit of a challenge for me from what I can tell.
I hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas, if you are celebrating. Otherwise, have a wonderful Saturday!

Merry Christmas, Trish!
What a cool gift! I don’t know much about iPad apps so I don’t have any advice there, but I’m sure you will find some good ones.
how fun! i don’t have an ipad, but am terribly interested in them. when you do get some apps and learn more on using it, can you do a followup post? i’d love to hear what you’ve learned and what works for michael. i would love to incorporate some structure/schedules in joe’s life.

Oh, and buy a very good case!!! Will is on his second iPad because the first cracked. We use the otterskin defender series. If you want it buy it through Amazon because you’ll save some money.
