So … the books that you own (however many there may be) … do you display them proudly right there in plain sight for all the world to see? (At least the world that comes into your living room.)
Or do you keep them tucked away in your office or bedroom or library or closet or someplace less “public?”
We used to have two large bookcases in the living room with most of our books out for display, but we moved things around a couple of years ago to make the living room less cluttered.
Now we have the main bookcases in our extra bedroom (which is just big enough for a computer desk, CD cabinet and the bookcases), and I have two smaller bookcases in the basement next to my filing cabinet. That’s where my reference books on autism and special education live.
Most of my collection of novels and sci fi/fantasy is gone now, but I did hold on to a few favorite authors and childhood books. A lot of these are actually in the attic right now. Hopefully someday we will have a house big enough for a library!
