About the Book
The Memory Festival is a celebration of recollections and loved ones through crafts. But when a local cop is wounded by a mysterious sharpshooter who seems to have a vendetta against the police, Benni fears for her loved ones, especially her police chief husband. Benni is determined to make her hometown safe-before their peaceful street fair becomes a day to remember in the worst way.
My Thoughts
I have long been a fan of Earlene Fowler, and of Benni Harper. This series is a lot of fun to read, with its mix of quilting and folk art, California history and small-town life, and a bit of light mystery and detective work.
Although I have occasionally thought that Benni and Gabe keep circling back around the same issues, I was pleased to see in this book that they finally seem to have found an even keel in their relationship. I won’t say more because I don’t want to get into the plot, but I did enjoy reading this one quite a bit.
Note: This is Book #83 of my 2011 Reads (master list here).
