In So Many Words

In case you are looking for me today, I have somehow managed to be in two places at once, sharing two of my passions.

As you may know, I read books – a lot of books. My husband has commented on several occasions that I would be happy just sitting in our room while he shoveled books in for me to read. My answer – throw in the Mountain Dew and I’m there! So my first stop today is 5 Minutes for Special Needs to talk about my two latest finds.

Another thing I do compulsively regularly is make lists. But then I get frustrated by the lists themselves being messy or disorganized and I write a new one. Thus my second destination, Created and Called, to share the solution I have found to this problem.

Well, I’m off to help my son with his latest passion, finding Waldo.

So on the one day that we didn’t set the alarm because hubby had periodontal surgery scheduled and wasn’t going to work, the phone rang at 5:45 AM with an automated message from the school district that there would be a 2-hour delay with modified kindergarten due to a police incident. (Basically, that means my son will start school at 2:00 PM instead of 1:00 PM, so you can imagine how happy I was to know that so early in the morning!)

It turns out the problem occurred near one of the elementary schools early this morning when, during a traffic stop, a woman’s body was found in the trunk of the car. The driver apparently took off and has not been found as of the last report I saw.

How is your day going?

Last week, I was able to attend the monthly mom’s group at our church for the first time in four years (not counting a couple of evening events I made it to). I had to stop going when Michael first starting receiving Early Intervention services, and my schedule has just never worked out to have Tuesday mornings free, until now! It was a wonderful time of connecting with some other moms and just relaxing for a couple of hours.

It was actually through one of the moms in that group that I got started blogging, and I feel like I know several of them really well now even though we haven’t spent much time together in person. The former leader of the group had started this blog (formerly called “Like I Was Saying”) to share announcements and other items of interest a couple of years ago, and now the team has decided to make it a group blog with several of us contributing whatever is on our heart.

So I will be popping up over there at random times, amongst a whole crew of great ladies who are mom bloggers and will be sharing their ideas and talents with all of us. Come and check out the new Created and Called!
